More than ever EXAVISION confirms its willing to go forward.
Most of tools and objects that will be used in 10 years time do not exist yet! That means that there is a large ground left for the research and discovery of not only innovative technologies but also for new applications of these technologies.
So, EXAVISION will decidedly take part to the emerging industrial and technologic revolution of the multimedia and the digital image processing sectors.
That is the reason why we already work on tomorrow's potentialities. For that purpose we rely on :
Our R&D capabilities. In the past years we earned a good reputation thanks to our large portfolio of project references coming from various and very diversified sectors. Indeed, we adapted our know-how to our customers' fields of intervention through specific studies which materialised, first, in made-to-measure prototypes, and became then manufactured standard products.
A comprehensive technological awareness and technology transfer. Besides the customised studies conducted for customers, we allocate a significant budget for the development of new concepts and products in order to maintain our leadership on the vision market during the next millennium.
The articles we manufacture either come from a technology transfer (with a special license of laboratories like the French Atomic Board) or are the result of our own research.
Let's take some examples issued from our R&D policy.
- NEUROVISION®
It is an "intelligent" viewing product line which will integrate our brand new image processing card based on neuronal network and fuzzy logic. This specialised and autonomous tool of real time image processing (20 ms) gathers the three key parameters of any industrial application :
- perception
- understanding
- action
This card gathering real time acquisition, processing and monitoring functions, is extremely condensed (160 mm x 220 mm) and its computation power is superior to 200 Mips (the equivalent to a Pentium). It perfectly matches the integration constraints of real time image processing and analysing tools.
EXAVISION already done some applications and is today equipped with a NEUROFOCUS unit, and with a prototype displaying the potentialities of this concept, whose performances are unequalled in the field of on-board real time image processing systems.
NEUROVISION is the perfect answer to :
- Position measurements (oculometry, level measurement)
- Counting and detection of mobile targets
- Automatic target tracking
- Mobile robots or manipulator arms guidance

- CHROMOVIEW®
Light and photonics are the key of any viewing system ; they are the guarantee of the picture quality. Beside the EXALIGHT product line of projectors and intensified TV cameras DARCAM, EXAVISION carries out innovative concepts in the field of light processing. CHROMOVIEW is a light dynamic filtering system resulting from an "industry adapted concept" and advanced optical research.
The process acts on the whole spectrum from UV to IR and behaves like a very accurate, highly dynamic, real time video filter either lowpass, narrow or wide band filter, highpass, rejector for single or multichannel. When coupled to a special adapted colour TV camera, it allows the visualisation of various complex ultrabright events. CHROMOCAM , the result of this association, is a TV colour camera suitable to any type of light spectrum filtering. It also works as a measurement, qualification and calibration tool : connected to a PC CHROMOCAM may also be used as a precise instrument for plotting the measured spectrum of a specific picture or the dynamic response of any filter.
This new process is perfectly suitable to monitor laser or plasma welding and is a smart peripheral to our standard product ARCAM.
The analysis of diversified light sources or different types of radiance is now possible thanks to this innovative TV camera and industrial process.
- STEREOVISION®
EXAVISION has been working on 3D image sensing & processing for over 3 years.
Beside the TWINSCOPE system, we have various algorithms as well as acquisition and restitution techniques of 3D and high resolution colour TV pictures.
We are also focussed in the techniques relating to shimmering principles.
In association with the NEUROVISION concept, 3D vision is the promise of technically outstanding realisations allowing target localisation in space or the automatic modelling of environments by means of a standard alone TV camera system.
- MULTIPLEX - DIGITAL TV CAMERAS®
Thank to mid point connection interfaces, EXAVISION has always reduced connectivity problem which is the weak point of any industrial equipment.
We worked on hertzian transmission multiplex technology, AM or FM techniques which are already present in a few products like the CODEC/PICODEC cards.
Soon, an emerging data multiplex technology will allow to deal with a large number of sensors and drivers on different video channels with reduced wire support connectics.
According to the multimedia evolution and the mastering of techniques related to digitalisation, we will be able to build very complex video architectures and systems without connection problems and with increased reliability, maintainability and versatility. That is why we work and are designing PCB and software on wirefire, IEE 1394 Bus and digital TV cameras.
The News
- EXAVISION will attend the European Nuclear show 1998 in Nice, France from the 26-27-28 of october stand N°E 37.
- EXAVISION's technology will be also presented at the POLLUTEC show in Lyon France environement exhibition from 3 to 6 november 1998, Hall 2 stand N°2516.
- EXAVISION has been onnored with a contract of over 40 COLIBRI by the French Army. These micro camera will be fitted in mirage F1 plane.
